The Quickdraw Saddlebag is compatible with nearly all saddles that use round 7mm rails, making the saddlebag compatible with the vast majority of steel, titanium, and hollow steel-railed saddles.

What Rail Shape Do I Have?

Saddle rails come in two basic shapes: round and oval. Round rails have the same width all the way around (commonly 7mm, sometimes written as 7x7mm). Oval rails are flattened on two sides, most often measuring 7x9mm. The difference can usually be identified just by looking at the rail from the end or by checking the saddle’s spec sheet.

Saddles That Won't Work

• Oval rails (7x9mm): The saddle rail clamps included in our strap are designed around a round profile, and they will not attach securely to oval rails.
• Carbon-railed saddles: Most carbon rails are oval-shaped for stiffness, so the Quickdraw is generally not compatible. If you have a carbon saddle, check the spec sheet to confirm rail shape before ordering - a small number of carbon saddles do use round rails.
• Some comfort/cruiser saddles: Wider comfort saddles with dual coil springs often have rails positioned too close to the springs for the strap to wrap around, even when the rails themselves are round.
