Can I Use Bar End Shifters with the Drop Grips?Updated a month ago

Yes, but it depends on your specific setup. Drop Grips are compatible with bar-end shifters if the shift cable is routed internally. The key is to ensure the cable enters the handlebar at a point that does not interfere with where the grips are placed.

What if I have a Kitchen Sink Handlebar with internally routed shifters?

The Kitchen Sink Handlebar does not have pre-drilled holes for bar-end shifters. To use internally routed bar-end shifters with this handlebar, you would need to drill your own holes for the cable to enter.

Please note: Drilling into your handlebar will void your warranty and make it ineligible for a return or exchange. If you decide to do this, watch this video for a guide on how to properly drill handlebars for internal cable routing. What about externally routed bar-end shifters?

For externally routed bar-end shifters, you would need to modify your Drop Grips to accommodate the cables. A customer successfully did this by creating a channel or slot in the grips themselves. This modification would also void your warranty, but it's an option if you're comfortable with a do-it-yourself project.

We can't guarantee the results of any of these modifications, but they're worth considering if you're determined to use your Drop Grips with bar-end shifters.
